The Brief
What was the idea?
Foxtel Alert Shirt converts live AFL game data into powerful sensations that are experienced instantly by the wearer of a custom built AFL jersey. CHE Proximity and Wearable Experiments enlisted our help to build a server application that could deliver real-time AFL data from Champion Data to thousands of connected users.
The Solution
What we made
Our experience developing Carlton Draught Pick gave us a unique capability to deliver a real-time, scalable system that supported the data requirements for Alert Shirt. The solution works in the following way:
- Champion Data sends real-time data to our server application as events occur on the ground
- The server processes this data, stores it, and then distributes it instantly to connected mobiles
- The mobile app built by CHE and WE:EX receives the data and triggers sensations in the jersey via bluetooth
